A Plan for Wellness
Did you make a New Years resolution to take better care of yourself and improve your overall health? How do you plan on acheiving this goal? Here is a suggestion: Try Polarity Therapy. Polarity Therapy is beneficial, safe for all ages, and it complements other medical care. What is Polarity therapy? It is a natural healing energy therapy. It is a Holistic approach to improving ones health.
What does it feel like? A session begins with a conversation with a caring and knowledgeable Polarity practitioner. After determining the focus of the session, the energetic bodywork is next. The client remains fully clothed and lies on a Polarity/ Massage table. You will feel warm healing hands balancing energy flow in your body. Light touches and holds, rocking motions, and firm holds at acupressure and reflex points are used. You may feel tingling, you may feel wavelike sensations, and many individuals feel sleepy.
A Polarity Therapy session is deeply relaxing and is an excellent way to promote your bodys ability to heal. It doesn't stop there: Polarity practitioners strive to educate their clients in self help tools they can use to improve their physical and mental health. This may include suggestions for Yoga strethes and Polarity nutrition. Lifestyle skill are discussed which are great for maintaining balance and good helth. Practitioners also work with clients to encourage greater self awareness plus a positive view of themselves and the world they live in. The partnership between pradtitioner and client is designed to empower the client in their quest for good health.
Polarity Therapy, developed by Dr. Randolph Stone, is in the same family of Holistic therapies as Therapeutic Touch, Healing Touch , and Reiki. A basic tenet of Polarity therapy is that the flow and balance of energy in the human body is the foundation of good health. Energy balancing is central to many ancient health care systems such as Ayurvedic Medicine ( Indian) and Chinese Medicine. A Polarity practitioner evaluates clients in terms of the 5 elemental energies in the body: Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. Each of these elements is associated with one of the 7 chakras, or energy centers of the body. Imbalances in any of these elemental energies can be addressed by Polarity Therapy.
Where can you find a qualified Polarity practitioner? Polarity practioners "APP/ RPP" are registered by the American Polarity Therapy Association. The APTA sets standards, rules, and regulatiosn foe the profession of polarity therapy. It has a strick code of ethics and an elected member board. You may visit the web site of the APTA to look for a Polarity practitioner in your area and to learn more about Polarity Therapy: www.polaritytherapy.org.
